PAUL STORR GEORGIAN Solid Silver TEA COFFEE SPOON Hallmarked 1813 Sterling NR
London: PAUL STORR - Old English Pattern - 3/4 troy oz.
This is a lovely rare GEORGIAN solid silver tea or coffee spoon which was made in London, England in 1813 by the illustrious silversmith Paul Storr at his Gray's Inn Road workshops. It is in the Old English pattern. It measures 5 1/2" long and is 1 1/8" across its bowl. This piece of cutlery weighs22.4 grams -almost3/4troy oz. It is engraved to the handle with a detailed armorial crest.
It is in very good condition for its age with less than the usual surface scratching than you'd expect for its age, NO splits or repairs, NO dimpling to the bowl - less than the usual wear to the leading edge and without the common thinning to the bowl - see photograph - SUPERB. It is hallmarked on the reverse of the handle with PS, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), S, George III duty mark showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1813. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare Georgian solid silver PAUL STORR teaspoon at a very low start!!!!
