This is a 2\" circular disk of Mother of Pearl, hand painted with a scene from a Persian story. A man or Prince kneels to the left, his eyes focused on an object in his right hand. Sneaking up behind him? is a woman or Princess with a bottle in her left hand and a bowl of dripping liquid in her right, held high and about to be dropped/poured on the kneeling gentleman. If you know the story here please message me and I will include it in the listing. I suspect this was intended to be mounted for a pendant or braceletor could be part of the lid to a box.
