DESCRIPTION: One very rare, vintage or possibly antique, Philadelphia BUSY BODY or PEEPER. Legend says, invented by Benjamin Franklin, for use in 2 story homes to look out your window and see who is knocking at your door below. Or to see who is passing by on the sidewalk, etc. hence the name busy-body. The SECOND picture shows one installed on a home in Philadelphia. Also featured in an article in THIS OLD HOUSE, July 2014 issue. Perfect for a real restoration project in Philadelphia or surrounding area, as these are not found anywhere else....

These do not come on the market very often, so we call it rare.... and I am not sure the age except it\'s been in our barn for about 60 years.... It has 2 nice aged pieces of mirrored glass and one is missing, which is easily replaced (hopefully with an antique piece of glass)

CONDITION: Very good except for one missing mirror which needs to be replaced.
