POCKET WATCH VINTAGE 1940s GERMAN KIENZLE WW2 FIGHTER PLANE DIAL CHROMED CASE:

Extremelyimpressive, Gentleman\'soriginal, German \'Kienzle\'pocket watchwith an unusual gold and ivory dial anda very ornate Art Deco style case.

C ~ 1940\'s.

Looks to have been much loved and very well cared for - its condition certainly reflects this.

Full working order and is a great timekeeper(within +2/-2 minute per 24 hours) with plenty of room on the regulator (which is sat correctly in the central position) for any further fine tuning.

Fullyserviced (usingMoebius oils) and calibrated by my highly experienced watchmaker and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any collection!

DIAL;-

Beautiful,very pale ivory, high gloss, impressiveand distinctive dial with gold, slightly textured centre (which alters in shade when turned in the light) which is in wonderful condition- absolutely no fading or nibbles and just a tiny (micro) bit of patina showing under eyeglass commensurate with age.

Has two images to centre - one is a black ace of hearts set within a black diamond shaped border and the other is three WW2 fighter planes set within a red shield shaped border.

Stamped clearly and boldly in black script; KIENZLE

signed in an arc in black script just above the sub dial; ANTIMAGNETIC

and signed in black script below the sub dial; MADE IN GERMANY.

Bold, once luminous Arabic numbers with gold minute markers, gold five minute markers to outer chapter ring and a gold inner chapter ring.

Recessed ivory sub dial with black Arabic numbers and black seconds chapters.

Original finely cut, blacksteel with once luminous centres (amazingly no loss of infill to either), dauphine handsand original black steel seconds handall in good, straight order.

Original slightly domed crystal in amazingly clear and bright condition showing very few extremely light and short little micro surface scratches under eyeglass only.

CASE;-

The chunky (4.6cm diameter/6.3cm from top of bow to base) very ornate Art Deco style caseis heavy(has a pleasing, solid feel in the hand andtotal watch weight is a very respectable 54.6 grams) andin superb condition, absolutely no wear, just one very small indentation to back cover which is only visible if caught in the right light (does not detract in any way) and overall extremely light andshort little micro surface scratches showing under eyeglass only (usually caused by carrying the watch in a pocket with loose coins and other heavy objects jangling around) commensurate with age and use in her 70+ years service.

All covers, both inner and outer still retain their original mirror finish.

The back cover is beautifully adorned with an Art Deco style geometric, engine turned design with an oblong shaped, un-engraved cartouche to base.

Both front bezel and back cover snap on and off correctly, closing tightly with a very reassuring click.

The inside of theback cover is clearly stamped; KIENZLE GERMANY andcarries two old service marks.

MOVEMENT;-

The stem wound and hand set, German,3/4 fire gilt plate, pin pallet movement isin superb bright order and has just beenchecked andserviced.

Stamped clearly on the top plates; KIENZLE GERMANY NO (0) JEWELS UNADJUSTED WK and is numbered; 146/00e.

Balance action isabsolutely tremendousin all positions(could not be any better) and is keeping great time with a sure, strongpositive action and loud tick!

Windsextremely smoothly and fully (please do not be afraid to fully wind - over-winding is the great horological myth!)

Good,original, totally unworn, large flat topped \'onion\' crown.

Hand set operatessmoothly and correctly - the push down action is positive and true with no wear or play.

Good,original, un-worn, horseshoe shaped bow.
