\"Powerful\"
MODERNIST ABSTRACT
Large Original One of a Kind Acrylic Painting by US Artist Georgette Drake ~ A must have for the serious art collector. 24 inches x 36 inches. Thought provoking in its chaotic projection of trajectory designs mixed with flowing organic forms amass a texture of color and sand crystals, one wonders what was racing through the mind of the artist in this exotic portrayal of the convolutionary process of the Artist\'s brain at work and play. The colors are in jewel-like tones of bright oranges, reds, lime greens, sunny yellows, lavenders, dusky purples, bright and metallic blues, golds, coppers, startling whites against a subdued black darkened background. Painting is not framed, but the sides are painted so it may be hung as is or framed by the buyer. Due to the size, it will not be shipped internationally, but if the buyer has a US address, we can ship it to anywhere in the US then they can arrange safe shipment overseas. Please allow for some variations in colors due to your monitor\'s settings. It is slightly deeper/darker in tone inside in person as flash was used to take the photos outside so bear this in mind but with a light overhead, it will look pretty much like you see in the photos. Ms. Drake stated, \"I paint from the inside out when I am painting. It is purely instinctive and not based on anyone else\'s \'taught technique\' but rather by pure feeling and connection to myself as the artist. In this painting, you will see a part of me reflected in the brushstrokes, adventures and emotions I have experienced throughout the years when traveling. When I looked at the finished painting, I could see Paris, the sunlight, the moon on the Seine, the Caribbean with palms swaying, Venice with its glittering canals. I could see the powerful pull of the world and all its beauty!\" The painting is signed by the artist \"Georgette Drake 15\" down in the lower lower hand corner. This painting has been exhibited at the Delf Norona Museum in Moundsville, WV. Free shipping to anywhere in continental US. If buyer would like to arrange their own shipping at their own cost, please let us know, and we will work with you.

Statement by Artist Georgette (Gette) Drake:
Having studied art from an early age, I consider myself thoroughly immersed and captivated by art on a daily basis, living it and breathing it, experiencing art from other perspectives as well as my own. Art is life to me. I also love to travel and portray all that I have seen on the canvas. Abstracts, Figurals, and Cubism are a few of my painting styles, as well as Expressionism, Impressionism, and my very own manner I call “Etherealism” which is a blend of realism and otherworldly elusive, fluid, ephemeral qualities. In addition, I enjoy figural painting, studying the human form in depth by taking classes with several other professional artists, paying live models, and working from photographs, but also simply letting my imagination take over and finish a painting. In addition, I have also sold antique, modern, and contemporary art for the last 17 years so I have a deep love and appreciation for old vintage artworks with a history and story behind them. I have sold my own art all across the US and worldwide.
I like to think I\'ve kept my technique more purely my own, but I keep myself open to change from being exposed to art each day by imagery I see online and in books, by spending time with other artists, by going to museums, and through my travels and classes. Learning should be viewed as a lifelong process to be gleaned from studying and exploration, life experiences, from being with like-minded individuals as well as being exposed to those with very different perspectives, and in the actual participation of creative pursuits. As you can see, I love what I do. I am an Artist.
