Art Nouveau Brooch…..….

This is a very pretty brooch – English with hallmarksfor 1905 and in the style of Liberty with sinuous whiplash tendrils and Jugendstil/ secessionist influences.

The makers mark is not very clear to me It is reallyopen to interpretation – WH MB or even WR? To me it looks like WH and is verytypical of William Hasler Liberty pieces but his mark is WHH? MB Murrle Bennettbut it’s a different mark and it’s hallmarked in the uk - It’s a mystery!

Anyway, a very pretty period brooch set with a realfaceted purple Amethyst and a real pearl dropper in 9ct gold.

Size is 3.3cm or 1 3/8th” long x just over3cm or 1 ¼” in length.
