This segment shell is made from 30 blocks of solid wood.
The blocks were glued together and turned on a lathe.

ABOUT ME:
I began woodworking and restoring drums in the mid seventies around the Seattle area.
The sound and playability of the drum shells I built far exceeded all expectations.
In 2003 I started operating under the trade name Rhythm King Drums.
My goal was to create hand crafted hardwood drums and shells.

I offer them via the internet to keep them affordable, and because they were not available in music stores.
I have built thousands of drum shells since then as well as bodhran shells and banjo shells.
I believe the snare drum is the heart of the drum set.
Try one of my snare shells and see for yourself. You will sound better, and your band will sound better.
I also offer custom made drums and shells up to 24\" diameter, built with a wide variety of hardwoods such as bubinga, jarrah and figured maples.
