This offer is for a pair of antique Chinese \"Famille Rose,\" porcelain vase lamps that stand about 24 inches tall to the top of the solid brass shade finials. The lamps have 10 inch tall vases that are set atop 3 inch tall cylindrical, copper and brass bases with each having 4 seated copper Buddha figures mounted around them at equal 90 degree points. The vases are each capped with a 3 tiered, saucer shaped, brass cover and are secured with a solid brass beaded neck. I believe they electrified around the mid 1920s to early 1930s.
The vases are marked under the bases with the word \"China\" and an import label that dates them to about the turn of the century to about 1914, but the holes drilled in them were done at a much later date.
CONDITION: One lamp had a chip at the top that has been repaired. (Please review all images.) There does remain a short, vertical hairline crack just beneath the repair (image 9). The second vase lamp has no damage or repairs. While the damaged vase was being repaired I cleaned and polished the bases and vase caps and discovered that the bases are composed of a copper (or maybe bronze), cylinder with a brass cap. The applied Buddha figures are also copper or bronze. The bases have a few small dimples in the metal indicative of general use and they also retain some of the original patina. I\'d previouslychanged out both sockets with other very old ones that are in very good condition so both lamps are working and safe to use.
