Pair Of 19thC Russian Silver Vodka Goblets Or Egg Cups Stamped 84 & Maker\'s Mark:
$169.25

On sale are a pair of ornate Russian silver small goblets. The bottoms are stamped \"84\" and with a Cyrillic maker\'s mark. They are 3 3/8\" tall, 2 1/2\" diameter across the tops and the bases are 1 5/8\" in diameter. The pair weigh 7.3 ounces or 208 grams on my kitchen scale. My antique dealer has authenticated these as 19th century Russian silver, \"probably from Moscow\". He said the engraved arabesque design is \"very good\" and likes the weight in his hand. I called them egg cups as I found a similar pair saleed at Christies under that description. My antique dealer does not agree, he believes they were made as vodka glasses or goblets. We do agree that these are in excellent condition with no dents or flaws. The designs are not exactly alike. My antique dealer explained that hand crafted items will always differ a bit. Please view my photographs for more description. My Polish born friend received these in 1957 as a wedding gift from her friend, actress Pola Negri. Made in Moscow or not, these have a fine Eastern European pedigree. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
