You\'ll often enough come upon a set of singular elephant bookends, but this pair is particularly nice because each bookend features a couple of elephants; one larger and one smaller elephant depicting a male and female, a father and son, or a mother and child elephant. Maybe they represent the protective one and the vulnerable one, but you can use you your imagination and apply your own ideals to each marvelously formed, figural pair.

Condition: Rough but functional and a great symbol of good fortune. This pair is showing age, yet are still terrific looking, heavy, decorative and useful. There are holes and missing tusks and signs of use and wear, with an off white paint splash to the inside back leg and foot of one. Black enameled stone base has chips on the edges. Oxidation to the inside bolts holding each pair to their base. Metal looks to be brass or bronze, but is unknown alloy and could be a bronzed spelter. Protective felt bottom work well, but one is lifting up.
