Pair Silver Gilt Candelabras Wedding Prince Charles & Diana, Hector Miller Aurum:
$1867.65

Solid Silver pair of Candelabras by Hector Miller, commissioned by the Dean and Chapter of St Paul\'s Cathedral to commemorate the wedding of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and the Lady Diana Spencer on 29th July 1981
The building which was to be the scene of the wedding provided inspiration for the design. The stem of the candelabrum is formed by three winged heraldic beasts and, sweeping to a broad foot, three panels of orange blossom in relief. Finely-sculptured detail, enriched with pure gold gilt, receives added emphasis from the plain unadorned silver which surrounds it. The winged heraldic beasts, each holding its appropriate shield are those associated with the three principles of the event: Prince Charles, Lady Diana and St Paul\'s.

Rarely, this pair is sold with their Original documentation, i.e. a letter confirming their purchase (Original price was GBP 1350 in 1981!) and 2 certificates.

These candelabras were made in a limited edition of 400, these are number 79 and 80.

They are in very good condition.
Each is hallmarked for English sterling silver, London date letter G for 1981 and maker\'s mark for Hector Miller.
