This is a superb quality pair of antiqueVictorian flame mahogany bedside chests, circa 1860, in excellentcondition. Each bedside chest boastselegant chamfered moulded round cornered tops; this design is reflected in thedesign of the plinths. The bedsides eachhave four graduated working drawers below.The top drawer features the original working locks, brass escutcheon anda working key. The drawers areconstructed with hand-dovetailed joints, mahogany drawer linings and theoriginal turned mahogany knobs. Thedrawer linings even feature quarter beading to the frames; which is a true signof quality. The bedsides stand on theiroriginal top quality rounded mahogany plinths. The chests are constructed of top qualitysolid mahogany timber imported from the colonies during the Victorianperiod. The quality is reflected in theweight of these bedsides; they are heavy to lift!

These chests would look superb in avariety of rooms from the living room to the bedroom. These chests wouldcertainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremelyfunctional. So don\'t miss out yourchance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

Theseadapted bedside chests are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges,but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no cup marks, ink stains or othertypes of marks to the tops of the bedsides.Please note, any colour variation to the tops of the bedsides is due tothe natural variation in the grain configuration and patination; this is not adefect or marks to the polish – this is entirely natural. The drawers are smooth running and close flushto the frame. The top drawer featuresits original working lock, with a key. Thesebedsides are constructed of top quality solid mahogany; the flame mahoganygives a superb colour and patination. The quality is reflected in the weight of these bedsides; they areheavy to lift! They are solid in joint and ready to use.
