This is a very hard to find, vintage 1960\'s, pair of framed textile art, distributed by S.P. Solomon, a decorative arts publishing company from Brooklyn, New York. This wall art was a very attractive design addition to any home in the early 1960’s. The S.P. Solomon Company is no longer in business and company records show that company distribution had ceased by November 22, 1966 when the company filed for dissolution. This pair of square frame and round center hole, gold gilt framed art, reflects scenes of “Young Lust or Love” during the Victorian period. The framed art uses a plaster feel frame and the art is on silk or some fabric like that and has a paper board piece in the back. The condition of the is art is very good, the frames though do have some chips evident. (see pictures) The frames measure approximately 12” x 14” and the hole the art shows thru is oval and measures approximately 8-1/2” x 7-1/4”. The reverse of the frame has the S.P. Solomons stamp and SOLART logo. The back papers are ripped and starting to come off. These are being sold, AS IS.
