Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing pair of vintage tripod atomic lamps. Circa 1950s. Each features a metal tripod base with each leg ending in a small round wooden atomic ball. The shades are a beige fiberglass with randomly placed thick and thin black lines that appear vertically and horizontally over the surface. Each lamp has an metal pull chain used to turn the lamps on/off.
Measurements: Approx. 16\" tall. The fiberglass shades each measure approx. 12.25\" tall x 5.25\" in diameter.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The metal frames on the lamps are free from bends, breaks, dents, dings, etc. The wooden atomic ball feet shows only the slightest signs of paint loss which is commensurate with age and handling. The fiberglass shades are free from rips, holes, tears, stains, burns, etc. The lacing on each appears to be original. A few have broken over time, but they do not interfere with the stability of the shades. The lacing can easily be replaced, if desired. We choose to leave it as it was acquired. The electrical wiring looks to be original to both lamps, and it is in fine shape. It appears that one plug at the end may have been replaced at one point in time as it is a different color than the other. Both lamps are in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting and electronics, we recommend having the lamps checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use.
