This handsome set of carved genuine marble and alabaster dates from the middle years of the 20th c. and each measures 5 ¾” tall x 3 ¾” wide x 6” deep. The marble is thick with subtle veining and the proud reclining lions have terrific faces and cocky poses. One has a half-image of the leaning tower of Pisa while the other bears a military insignia.
