I really did not have the heart to sell these separately as they have clearly been together since the day they were issued in 1942.

The colours on these two pieces are really quite something, the pink jacket on Darby with the roses and green leaves make him quite stunning, but the purple and black that is in Joan is really quite wonderful. Her black shawl has so much detail in it, it is almost like you could reach out and touch the soft wool and feel just that. She is holding a pink ball of yarn in one hand, I think she is making Darby some pink socks to match his jacket. Isn\'t she so sweet, we all need a Joan in our lives.

Both chairs are really quite similar as the y should be since I am sure Darby would have bought them both at the same time.
