Pair of Stunning Victorian Style Plaster Wall Plaques
Exquisite in Design & Detail
A matched Pair of Male & Female
The top of the plaque has a delicate ribbon flowing down both sides.The plaque edge is trimmed in a lovely ribbon detail starting with the top bow.The bottom of the plaque has a bouquet of flowers and ends in a tassel.
She is beautiful & demure.Her face is overlooking her shoulder with her eyes closed.Her long flowing hair cascades down her back.She is wearing a long flowing gown.One leg is tucked behind the other leg which adds a touch of delicacy to her.She is surrounded by fronds and feather scrolls adorning her and the plaque.
He is looking towards the right in the direction of the female.He is adorned with the hat & a flowing overcoat.His sword is tucked in at his waistband.He has a long flowing mustache.He is surrounded by fronds and feather scrolls adorning him and the plaque.
Both plaques are an excellent estate condition.They are painted a matt finish gold.This matched pair of plaques appear to have been made in the early to mid 1900s.
The plaques are 24 inches in length 12 inches wide.There are two large staple type wires inbedded in the back of the plaques.Heavy wires are connected to those staples from which the plaques can be hung.I cannot find any signature or markings verifying the age or manufacturing location.They weigh approximately 11 pounds apiece.Thank you for looking.If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
