I am posting nine pairs of art dolls that just came out of a San Francisco estate. The dolls were made by a German artist in the town of Bremen named Anny Maas. I was told by the owner of the estate that his family lived in Germany during the 1950s. Each month, Anny Maas would visit the family and bring a new pair of dolls. The man\'s mother collected the dolls and brought them back to the US. I have not been able to find any information about the artist Anny Maas, so that I have to assume that these dolls are very rare and possibly one of a kind. Each doll represents a different country or area in Europe and their costume details are wonderful. All the male dolls have a tag that read on the front, \"Anny Maas, Trachtenpuppen aller europaschen Lander, hand made M. gesch 1632, Bremen\" and has the name of the country written on the back. Description: This lovely pair has dramatic black clothing with lots of lace and ribbon. She has a net mantilla and fishnet stockings with garter and he\'s wearing a sombrero.
Size: 13\"-15\"
Material: Hard cloth faces with painted details, firmly stuffed fabric bodies, fabric clothing, synthetic mohair and painted hair.
Condition: Very good; I could find no significant damage. Most of the dolls have a faint musty smell, slight dustiness or foxing and rumpling from storage.Please let me know if you are interested in more than one pair of dolls -- I would love to make a package deal and send them to a new home together.Shipping is via Priority mail based on weight.
