Two interesting pieces of Cranberry flashed KINGS CROWN (aka Thumbprint, Line No. 4016) 5 1/2 ounce Sundaes\' or Sherbets\'. What makes it interesting is that in addition to having the Cranberry \"band\" the bottom of the bowl portion isalsocranberry flashed. I\'ve seen a few of these in the past and all have been attributed to Tiffin but according to Gene Florence\'s \"COLLECTIBLE GLASSWARE from the 40\'s 50\'s 60\'s\" this pattern was first made by U.S. Glass in the late 1800\'s as Line No. 4016, Thumbprint. According to that reference at least 20 companies made a similar pattern over the years. To make a short story long I don\'t know for a fact who made these but I do know they did a good job and it was awhile back. I suspect it was Tiffin as I\'ve seen others in the past with \"bottom flash\" that were sold as Tiffin. These are listed in the reference book as \"Stem, 5 1/2 oz, sundae or sherbet\" and they hold 5 1/2 ounces when filled to the brim. These stand about 3 inches high and are about 3 5/8 inches across the top. The circular base is about 3 inches in diameter. I do note that there are 3 mold lines. There is a circular \"saw tooth\" pattern of glass raised just above the base glass that is much better defined (distinct?)than on other pieces I\'ve seen in this pattern.

The flashing on both pieces is in very good condition. I found no chips, flakes orcrackson either piece. I did note that one piece has a couple of thin \"lines\" in the glass (factory installed) on the bottom of the \"bowl\", not uncommon in vintage glass. The other piece has a very tiny \"micro bite\" on the outside rim, so small I almost missed it.

I typically ship via USPS Parcel Select or FedEx SmartPost as they are generally the least costly means I have found. I do check alternative means of shipping once I have the new owners zip code. Proximity and weight can sometimes make other shipping means more practical. I may use shipping other than USPS Parcel Select or FedEx SmartPost if one appears to be more advantageous for the new owner. Priority Regional Mail is also checked for those within my Postal Service Zone. In the event of multiple purchases items are routinely combined to minimize shipping costs when it appears that items can safely be shipped together.
