Chanukah (Hanakkah) Bronze Art Deco laurel branch oil-burning menorah complete with Oil Jug and \"shamash\" designed by the sculptor and industrial designer Maurice Ascalon and manufactured by his Pal-Bell company in Tel-Aviv, Israel circa 1948.Back panel is made of two delicate laurel branches with eight cornets shaped like clay lamps arranged in a semi-circle, with an identical clay lamp shaped \"shamash\". In the center stands a heavy Bronze oil jug .All three pieces are clearly stamped in both English and Hebrew with the Jug also stamped with the Pal-Bell company logo.approx. size: 71/2\" tall * 8 1/2\" wide * 4 1/2\" deep including oil jug but excluding shamashcondition: Very good to excellent condition. There are two creation flaws on the lower back. (see picture # 12) The oil jug has a slight forward lean, and when placed on the menorah, it seems to have been created that way. There is a scratch down to the bronze color on the jug and two small scratches on the jug handle. There are other light minor signs of aging.Maurice Ascalon (1913-2003) - Hungarian born sculptor and industrial designer.
