You are offerding on a vintage Russian lacquer hinged box made in Palekh by Antonina Smolova & dated 1966. This information is all on the bottom of the lid (written in Cyrilic) & also has the Palekh ID # 15910. The box is decorated with a young woman standing in front of a cottage in a woodland setting. As with all of Smolova\'s work, this one has exquiste detail, bright colors & gold colored borders around the box. The box measures about 5\"x37/8\"x15/8\" (across the lid).

The condition is good, there is wear & surface scratches, especially on the base. There is also damage to the corners, the back corners have been worn back a bit & the gold colored border has been worn away at these points. The interior is painted a bright red & is in good condition.
