Easter painting sale!!!
\"Paper Mache Bunny\"Oilon Canvas8 x 10
This is an original oil painting of an Easter bunny vintage candy container. These little paper mache items were popular during the 1940s. They are highly collectible now. This little oil painting was created for this Easter season. It\'s a wonderful item for those who love these collectible items and want to reminisce about the good old days.
This painting measures 8 X 10. It is signed at the bottom left in red paint. The sides are painted so it can be placed on a table top easel or hung without a frame. If you prefer to have this framed, remember no glass is required (oils need to breathe!). Any standard 8 x 10 frame will do. Frame is not included in this sale.
PLEASE NOTE: I just completed this painting Jan. 13, so it is wet and needs more drying time. I used an impasto technique which means thicker applications of paint....this can slow drying time. Buyer can either reserve item or purchase, but agrees to wait until the painting is completely dry prior to shipment. Thanks for understanding. Item will be varnished to protect paint and enhance colors.

SHIPPING: This painting will be shipped will be shipped with care and include tracking information and insurance. Artist statement and bio will be included. Copyright does not transfer with sale of this artwork.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Kristi Jones was named after Howard Chandler Christy, who was a 20th century illustrator and distant relative. Kristi is also related to Clyde Connell, one of Louisiana\'s most famous female artists. Kristi developed an innate artistic ability from being raised in an artistic home, which had an art studio and library. Both of her parents obtained art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother has sold work at a local gallery.

Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. She has created mosaics and sold her tropical jewelry at the annual Red River Revel, and many other local festivals. Presently, she has turned to painting, and has sold work both locally and nationally. She has exhibited at shows and galleries, including several group shows in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College\'s Meadows Museum of Art and Centenary\'s Magale Library, Artspace in downtown Shreveport, Smith Mason Gallery, and Shreveport Trading Company. In December 2011, Kristi was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), and became a Juried Roster Artist in 2012. In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center of New Orleans. Most of her work depicts the flavors, architecture, landscapes and culture of Louisiana and the South.
