In 2000 Patience Brewster discovered through the grapevine that Department 56 was interested in making some of my cards into ornaments. What a surprise!
It turned out that they not only liked her designs but, for the first time in history, they trusted her and trusted the public. They did not ask her to change a thing. When the first little Krinkles arrived from the Philippines, she was amazed. They looked exactly like the ones Patience had made and painted herself!Incredibly enough, they just flew off the shelves. The line sold out immediately. So Patience made more Krinkles and have been making them ever since.
From 2000 to 2002, Patience dedicated all of her spare time to compiling a rather large body of work. She painted about twenty or thirty illustrations and submitted them to the card company she had been working with for years. Patience was very excited to see this turn into a line of cards. Guess what? They turned it all down.Well, that lit a fire in Patience. She was about to turn fifty and decided this was it: She was going to launch her own card company.Patience twisted her husband\'s arm to help. He devised a realistic business plan and they borrowed some money from her wonderful, supportive mother.
In 2002 they gathered a pile of sticks and made furniture and arbors from which to dangle her ornaments. She covered panels with gold leaf and wired them up to display her new \"line\" of cards and went off to the overwhelming New York Stationery show. They had printed up actual catalogs, but the cards were just dummies, pretend cards. It was all very, very scary and, in hindsight, very, very fun, and all in all, it turned out to be a really good idea.
Now Patience is spending all of her time designing cards and ornaments while working on her annual original art show with her sister on Martha\'s Vineyard. (Just for the record, there are still couple of stories waiting patiently in her drawer. They whistle to Patience from time to time. One of these days...)

Pick Ups:We do welcome pick ups at our store after the item has been purchased thru . Please call or email to confirm the item is ready. In many cases, we do list items for sale from our Lombard store, FairyTales, Inc. 28 W. St. Charles Lombard IL 60148.

Returns:If you wish to return an item you purchased from FairyTales-Inc, you must notify us within 3 days of receiving the item. Shipping fees will not be refunded. Buyer is responsible for fees incurred to return items to FairyTales-Inc. We will assess a standard restocking fee of 15% for items returned. Credit for the item will not be issued until FairyTales-Inc receives the item in its original condition it was received. We will not accept items that are returned with out notice. All returns must have a FairyTales-Inc return Authorization number (RMA) on the box. Damages caused in shipping must be reported to FairyTales-inc within 3 days after the item is received. FairyTales-Inc will issue a full refund or replace the item after the shipping claim has been issued.

Damages:If you receive a damaged item, please contact us with in 3 days after the item is received. We will replace the item immediately if in stock along with placing a claim with the shipping carrier or the manufacturer of the item. DO NOT ship this item back to us. We will issue a shipping call tag for the item to be picked up or destroyed. We will not accept items returned without notice. If we do not have the item, buyer is welcome to exchange the item for another of equal value, or we will issue a full refund on the damaged item.

Holiday Shipping:For the Christmas Holiday, Orders must be placed and paid for by 2:00 PM on December 15, to be received by December 24, in the Continental United States. Orders will be shipped via Fed Ex or USPS unless requested otherwise. Shipping is NOT guaranteed due to unforeseen weather conditions and shipping carriers requirements. Orders shipping International via Fed Ex or USPS for the Christmas Holiday must be placed and paid for by 2:00 PM on November 30, to be received December 24. Again, shipping is NOT guaranteed due to unforeseen weather conditions and shipping carriers requirements. We will happily expedite shipping (next day, second day or three day select) with an additional charge to the buyer.
