Patrick O’brian: Master And Commander. 1970 Hardcover 1st Edition For Sale
For your library: Master and Commander, the first novel in the successful Jack Aubrey historical series by Patrick O’Brian. This is a first printing of the hardcover 1st edition published in 1970 by Collins (ISBN 00-221526-8); the dust jacket design is by Dell’Orco. Water has come in contact with the upper portion of the book, leaving a light 3” x 1.5” stain and a quarter-inch circular bubble on the front cover along the upper edge; there is also a discrete previous owner’s inkstamp on the front free endpaper; otherwise, this is a clean, very good+ copy. The unclipped, first state dust jacket is water stained along the upper edges, but this can be observed only on the upper edge of the rear panel and at the upper left-hand corner of the front inner flap– the remainder of the evidence of water contact is confined to the inner surface of the jacket; there is also some light rubbing to the white-space of the rear panel; thus, a very good example that displays reasonably well. This scarce book will be packed carefully and shipped via insured US Media Mail. Thanks for looking.
