An idea with versatility. A friend of mine suggested that since I was itching to be sewing custom items again, I ought to design a cover for the Featherweight card table. I became inspired by her idea. I came up with this design, sewed up a few of the covers, and they\'ve been a hit.And now, the pattern is also available to you!

Take a look below and you\'ll see some very special features to this cover. (Yes, it is pleasing to the eye, but it\'s so functional, too!) Make the simpler version with or without pockets out of OIL CLOTH, or see below for the intermediate version. You have the option of trimming the edges in coordinating bias binding with rick rack accents and ties. Scroll below for more examples of style for your individualized cover.
You can make your cover from sturdyduck/canvas fabric ANDcover it with heavy vinyl. My first thought was only of oil cloth, but then I had another idea! If you\'re like me, you get so spread out with a project that you\'ll often lose your instruction sheet or pieces of your quilt project under the piles of fabric or notions that you\'re working with. Well,that\'s one of the reasons why I designed this cover with a liftable vinyl cover. It\'s nice and slick, too, so your garment or quilt-in-progress doesn\'t\"stick\" to the table cover as you\'re sewing.
You can use it THIS way -- to arrange & admirefinished quilt blocks ...(notice the rick rack ties that anchor the fitted corners to the legs of the table)

And then

Take a break for lunch, and even feel free to spill a little as you\'re planning the next step of your project.

And ...

Here you see the other way you can use the liftable vinyl top ... You\'ll always know where your instruction sheet is!

Yourcover will havefitted corners, optional bias binding at all edges and rick rack ties at corners. Handy side pocket at front right corner for scissors orsewing notions. I\'ve alsoadded a second pocket at the left front corner (facing you) for snippets of fabric & discarded threads. Pleats at the bottomhelp keep the top of the pocket open for you -- VERY handy! (And one customer who purchased this pattern suggested that the pocket ought to be detachable -- velcro was her idea, buta zipper or buttons would also be attractive-- so thatcollected scraps &snippets could be emptied into the trash can more easily. You might want to remember her hint when you construct your own cover. I thought it was a great idea!)
