This Pelikan M1000 Raden Sunrise Red Fountain Pen is madeusing the Japanese Makie techniquesbeginning with a red Urushi lacquer. the stripes are then created by adding a layer of real abalone shells from the Japanese sea. The shells are ground with a hard stone into thin sheets to be used in the process. They are then cut and fixed on the pen with lacquer and then coated and polished for a stunning end result.
