CONDITION

Good. Rubbing / soiling to exteriors. Soiling of page blocks. Lightly toned pages. Light stains to a couple of pages, but generally the interior pages are clean.
Volume II has a couple of small areas of fraying along the edges. The first four pages are loose, and the binding is cracked at pages 480-481, but no loose pages there. The tipped infac-simile of the original terms of Lee\'s Surrender is memoirswas and still isone of the most highly regarded accounts of the War Between the States. It also contain account of Grant\'s involvement in the Mexican American War.

This first edition ismust-have book for anybody interested in Civil War, Civil War generals or U. S. Presidents.
