Antique, painted cast iron rabbit doorstop holding Easter egg. 11\" tall x 6\" wide. Weighs 92 ounces (5.75 pounds).Purchased long ago by my mother at a fine antiques shop. It is extremely rare and hard to find this particular standing rabbit doorstop
(from what I can tell).Made of cast iron and hand painted.

I am not an expert on doorstops but in looking carefully but on this item, the the back it is stamped \"Pittsburg Foundry\". I saw this in the second to last photo- on the back- it looks lighter in the sunlight when photographed- the back is a dark rusty color brown as seen in the other photograph and if you look carefully in the middle you can see some of the stamping.

This item was made byPittsburg Foundry. I\'ve searched extensively online and cannot locate another like it. I contacted Pittsburg Foundry in Texas and here was their reply:

\"There was an iron foundry here in Pittsburg, TX from somewhere in the 1950 time frame to sometime in the late 1970\'s. I do happen to know that foundry did a lot of traffic related things like man hole covers and water drain thresholds. I don\'t know if they ever did something like this.

But there are also cities named Pittsburg and spelled without an H in most every state in the USA. And many of them also had foundries that likely could have been called \"Pittsburg Foundry\".
