Details: An extremely rare (see below) silver and enamel thimble by Peter Swingler depicting the 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover. Portrait to the front with details to the rear enamelled on a heavy gauge solid silver thimble decorated with a Golden Eagle and \'Constitution\' scrolls.

This thimble is from one of only 3 sets made of all the Presidents of the USA as shown with the covering letter by Peter Swingler. It is therefore more than likely that this is 1 of 3 he ever produced. The set was completed c1989 and this thimble is hallmarked c1990.
