This is a yellow head rooster. It was a mid-seventies favorite of the no feet collectors with cross-over. There are several different color variations with white being the most common, followedby yellow and then green. Rooster first appeared for Pezin 1976 on a 2.6 stem. It was part of a BARNYARD ANIMALS series that included Chick (B), Cow (B), and Lamb.Some 2.6 stems were used up until 1980. Rooster started off with a White Head and subsequent runs saw Yellow and Green heads. Production stopped in 1979 when PEZ experimented with softheads. The softheads were a failure and PEZ went back to traditional harder plastic. Rooster re-appeared in 1980 as a Merry Music maker Whistle. In 1987, PEZ began to put thin feet on some PEZ and started with several older characters for several years, including the Rooster.
