This listing is for a Philco Transitone AM tube radio, Model 48-250 (manufactured in 1948). The radio has been re-capped, with all paper-wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced. Out of tolerance resistors were replaced as was any weak tubes. The volume control has been replaced and a new dial lamp and power cord installed. The tuner bearings have been lubed for smooth tuning and radio aligned for strong signals throughout the dial. Several tears in the speaker have been repaired and the speaker sounds good with no distortion noted. There is some rust on the chasis top which has been cleaned (photo 8, left side behind the 7A8 tube), and presentsno problem. There is a flea bite in the bakelite just above the 0 in 550 KC which can be seen in photo 1.The radio cabinet has been repainted with3 coats ofgood quality enamel paint, close to the original color. The radio back is in good condition. Original knobs are present. This radio has been recently restored and tested forseveraldays and sounds as good as it looks. You won\'t find many of these radios in this condition. Dimensions as follows 11 1/2\" wide X 7 1/2\" tall X 7\" deep. Unpacked the radio weighs approximately 6 lbs.
