The Stehelins of New France -- Pioneers from France who came here to Weymouth -Nova Scotia looking for a land they could develop and live in Peace,away from the War that was raging in Europe.The fabulous true story of a Legendary family who carved out of the forest wilderness a beautiful life and a prosperous business- the saga of their Struggles ,loves ,War and dispersal . This Painting pictured here was done by their daughter and given to Local Priest ,who was a regular quest their .Their settlement was a booming business at the turn of century ,now being taken over by The Irving Family of New Brunswick and being developed by the Weymouth Historical Society to some degree .Miss Stehelin only stayed a short time in Canada , going back to her Native Home France ,where she continued to paint and display in Paris . This is one of her earliest works,only known one to exist .Starting at a modest opening . Shipped double boxed for safe journey .
