Deep carvings dominate the underside of this old bowl, a large turtle, surrounded by intricate designs, ancestral figures and a crusty well used patina. A carved lug for suspension, and two age cracks. Easily dates to the first half of the 20thc, collected from the Boiken people of the Prince Alexandra Mountains. Meas: 60cms diam. 9cms deep.
