This strip is hand drawn and inked by Mr. Kelly, featuring major charactersPogo, Churchy and Albert. This was, of course, created during the infamous 1950's McCarthy era, and is one of the strips that established Kelly as a bit of a freedom fighter, during a time that few were willing to stand up and speak out.
The strip is in good shape with an off-white coloring from age. It has the normal few pin holes around the border, used by Kelly to hold in place while inking. It's also been folded (as was usual) vertically between the two panels, from when Kelly himself sent it to the syndication printers, which is hard to see when framed.
The artwork itself is hand brushed black ink over blue pencil. Signed "Walt Kelly".
