Pre-08 undivided back postcard shows President Theodore Roosevelt with his wife and six children. From left to right we see Quentin Roosevelt, born in 1897, who died heroically in battle during World War 1 at age 20 and the President. Next we see Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt, Jr., born in 1887, a political and business leader who fought in both World Wars, then Archibald Roosevelt, born in 1893, a distinguished Army officer in both World Wars and asuccessful businessman, Alice Roosevelt Longworth, an ambassador and later in life, a colorful Washington, D.C. doyenne who earned the moniker “The Other Washington Monument”, then Kermit Roosevelt, born in 1889, an explorer, soldier, writer and businessman. Wife Edith Kermit Carow, mother of all the children except Alice whose mother died right after her birth and Ethel Roosevelt Derby, born in 1891, a pioneering World War I nurse and Red Cross volunteer. The postcard in the scan has a mar in the upper right corner; the one up for sale does not have that. Unused; excellent condition with a weak lower left corner.
