PORT ROYAL CORAL ENCRUSTED SPANISH COIN, 1692

This is genuine pirate treasure taken off a Spanish galleon by pirates & brought into Port Royal before 1692!

It is a coral encrusted Spanishcoinwas found in a block of coral among the remains of a ship that was sunk in 1692 along the old shoreline ofthe sunken port of Port Royal harbor.

The town was destroyed by an earth quake on June 7, 1692 when much of the old port area of the city was submerged.

It is 11/16\"x 5/8” diameter & is covered with coral encrustation & green corrosionfrom sitting on the bottom of the sea for all those years. Itis ingood as found condition & was only cleaned with warm water & mild dish detergent to remove the salt water. It was on display in the Port Royal Museum for many years until the museum closed down & its collection sold off the pay debts!

There have not been any artifacts from this area for many years because the whole bay can no longer by dived in as the water is not fit for diving, swimming or boating as the sewage from Kingston is released directly into the bay!

Artifacts from Port Royal are now considered very rare & are seldom seen any more at antique shows! It comes with a Becker Collection letter, Joseph Becker bought the artifacts from the Port Royal Museum where it was on display for many years.

See the other Port Royal artifacts, several Spanish crosses, several silver rings with various stones, a coral encrusted cannonball & a large & a heavy ship spike from Captain Henry Morgan\'s schooner I have listed separately
