Original post Civil War lithographic portrait of Willam Dougall MD , Captain of the 13th US Colored Infantry...signed in ink by him....Portrait shows him wearing his GAR medals...Dougall enlisted in 1861 with Company C, 15th Indiana Infantry at Fort Wayne and was wounded at the Battle of Stone River, Tenn...He was commissioned Captain in 1863 and led the Colored Infantry for the rest of the war...portrait is in fair condition with age and storage wear...there is a pin hole on the right side of the collar...dimensions are 9\" x11\"...He became a doctor after the war and also became a postmaster.
