This is a listing for a pair of 19th century American bronze figural candlestick girandole lusters with glass prisms and marble bases. The lusters measure 16 1/4 inches or 41.2cm high, and are 13 inches or 33cm at their widest. The candelabrum features a rectangular marble base which supports the figural stem of a Native American Osage Indian Chief standing with a patterned shawl and headdress holding a partial spear in one hand. Rising from the tops of his head is a large floral design with arms that hold the candle cups. Each candle cup has a foliate bobeche with glass prisms hanging. Each candlestick has a 10 two part prisms hanging. The bronze has a gilt gold patina or color which is all original to the pieces. Although unmarked as to maker this girandole was typically made by Cornelius & Co. Philadelphia and were part of the Daniel Boone Pattern. The Osage Indian Chief was modeled after a Catlin portrait print.They are in overall excellent condition for their age. There are age appropriate variations to the patina and minor flakes on the edges of the marble bases. The prisms have minor flakes and chips, age appropriate. There is one prism missing.
