There have been 4 ships in the U.S. Navy that werecalled the U.S.S. Maryland. This is a photograph of the second ship that borethat name. This ship was renamed the U.S.S. Fredrick in November of 1916. This16x10 inch photograph shows a group on Marines, with two Marines holding buglesand the rest holding rifles.  A few Navyseamen are visible in the background near the right edge and at the top edge ofthe photograph. The photograph is glued onto a piece of very old cardboard. Itappears that a matt was glue on at a later date. The photograph is in goodcondition with one tear along its top edge. The photograph will be shippedflat, between 2 pieces of stiff cardboard.
