COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, March 12, 1796, Boston Massachusetts. This is a complete as issued 4 page newspaper from 1796 in very good condition and still adjoined at the spine! It was printed on a heavy rag/cotton paper so it is not at all brittle to the touch and can be read without being damaged.

This rare and historic issue contains on the front page, an ACT OF CONGRESS signed in print by George Washington President of the United States. Many illustrated ads of ships for sale or charter as well as reports and articles about the days doings abound in this issue.

Newspapers from the 1700s are becoming more difficult to find let alone with an Acts of Congress signed by G. WASHINGTON and in this nice of condition!!

This newspaper was one of the greatest of the Federal newspapers. It was published without a break from 1784-1840. Editor Benjamin Russell oversaw the production on the newspaper throughout his long life having run away from home at age thirteen to serve in the Continental Army after war broke at Lexington and CONCORD.

This RARE, DECORATIVE and DISPLAYABLE newspaper would make a great addition to any Home Office or Restaurant decor and can be an excellent opportunity for the Historian, Researcher, Collector or Investor. Own a real piece of history!
