RICHARD M. NIXON. After his election win in November 1968, Richard Nixon wrote a four paragraph letter to Edward J. Stack, mayor of Pompano Beach, FL thanking him for his personal support during the 1968 presidential election campaign with President Nixon\'s original hand written signature \"Dick Nixon\". This letter is dated December 7, 1968 and was written on official, \"OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT-ELECT\" stationery from 450 Park Avenue, New York. the letter starts out \"Dear Ed\". He stated in the letter that he looked forward to the day when he could thank him personally for all he did. He said that he hopes that those who campaigned for him shall be able to look back to see that his election was \"one of the crucial turning points in history providing the new leadership that America needed, and in the words of Winston Churchill, \'in making this muddled world a better place to live.\'\" The letter is in near fine condition encased in a protective folder. Along with it came a black and white 8x10 photo of Mayor Edward Stack and his wife. I purchased this from a collector, who also included a framed 8x10 color photo of President Nixon, Patricia Nixon, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, David Eisenhower, Tricia Nixon Cox and Edward Finch Cox with their facsimile signatures on the occasion of the November 7, 1972 election victory. Taped to the back of the black frame is the original transmittal envelope on White House mailing stock with a post mark of April 10, 1973 with an Eisenhower stamp. See photos.
