Pretty In Pink Antique Easter Bunny Rabbit Candy Container Germany, Glass Eyes For Sale
Welcome to our sale! Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of antique and vintage Hallowe'en, Christmas, and Easter holiday memorabilia, paper ephemera, antique dolls and toys, and lovely old china and glassware. We alsoLOVE bunny rabbits! For your consideration, we are proud to present an absolutely adorable and stunningly beautiful antique wooden and composition over formed and stapled paper board (or what some refer to as paper or papier mache) bunny rabbit candy container from the early 1900s. This lovely little lagomorph has her original glass eyes! Please meet Rosie! She is marked Germany at her neck collar and her head removes so that candy could be placed inside of her body. She retains her original paint that was done in a gorgeous shade of petalpink with metallic gold highlights on one side and darker rose pink airbrushed highlights on the other side. She has hand-painted black accents to her cute little mouth and wiggly nose. She is the perfect size to be displayed with all your antique Easter treasures measuring 5 ¾” long x 5 ¾” high. This is a rare bunny and her magnificent condition is as follows: her ear tips have tiny bumps, there is a tiny hole at the seam underneath her tail and a small hole under her chin. But none of this detracts from her sweet presentation. There are lines present where the composition meets each of the four wooden stick legs. These are NOT cracks!!! It is simply where the composition ends on each leg.We like to place antique candy containers such as Rosie in old baskets with Victorian milk glass eggs or place themin the arms of your favorite German or French bisque-head doll. We think this adorable bunny would make a superb acquisition for the Easter memorabilia collector, candy container collector, bunny rabbit lover, wildlife enthusiast, and for those who like to accessorize your doll collection with authentic and original seasonal decorations.WE LOVE OUR buyers!
