Primitive Americana: A+ Wooden Bread Board w/ Wheat & Verse, Carved Maple, 19thC:

Description: A fine antique Bread Board, American or English, 19thC. Turned and deeply-carved of solid, Maple or similar. Features a 1-1/2\"W inner relief border that reads, simply: \"Bread / Staff of Life\" over a stippled ground. Detailed Wheat Sheafs (Sheaves) flank the verse. Very nice wear, knife/utensil marks, etc.; the cutting surface is slightly concave (like an old butcher block) from years of use. The back has age-appropriate wear; this side probably used for daily use, cheese, etc.. This Board has been well cared-for with a warm, rich patina from generations of use.

Condition: There is a small, natural check in the L of “Life” see close-up, photo #7); otherwise Very Good to Excellent excellent with expected utilitarian wear in all the right places. This Board displays brilliantly and will feature prominently in your Country or Primitive setting; or perhaps a thoughtful Holiday gift. See photos for complete details and close-ups.
