$1200.00
Fine and very rare 22kt gold pearl and coral brooch ca. 1850 to 1860 , made in China , one of the finest Chinese silversmiths works I have ever seen , lovely brooch set with pearls and coral and in center a rat , representing wealth , original strait back pin and Chinese hallmarks under hinge on back , in original wooden box lined with blue silk , one original post from earrings now missing brooch measures about 1 1/2 inches across , the brooch is in fantastic shape for age , a few pearls and coral stones missing easy repair otherwise great ! This is one of the finest pieces of Chinese gold jewelry I have ever seen , may have been made for a member of the ruling class ? or the royal family , Item came to United States purchases by a sea captain in the China trade, the set was handed down in the family for generations , first time offered for sale , i have seen very little jewelry of this quality offered for sale one line , really so rare should be at the Peabody Essex museum ! THIS IS A VERY RARE PIECE OF CHINESE ANTIQUE JEWELRY , AND VALUABLE , !
