DESCRIPTION-Superb Russian icon depicting a penitent saint with Holy Mother & child. Quite ahard one to date, this one shows decent age andin our opinion dates 19th Century. There is some fine detail in this piece.
CONDITION-The work shows signs of its age with numerous small flecks of missing paint and some scratches in places. Due to its smaller size this may well have been an icon used by a traveller or journeyman. Dark varnish and some scuffs, old damage to the frame- this one needs some work.
SIZE-Measures9.5 by 8inches approxincluding frame, panel 5.25 by 4 inches
