Known as EPL 431, this beautiful and colorful toy was one of the most popular of the animal toys produced in Germany by Lehmann. Made from 1898 to 1935, this windup toy flutters its wings and crawls along the floor or table top in a realistic motion. Wind up beetle works great. Great collectors item. The beetle winds up and walks across a solid surface. Very cool toy! Founded by Ernst Paul Lehmann, the company distinguished itself in the early part of the 20th-century by producing small, lightweight tin toys that were more affordable than those the competition produced.
