This listing is for a vintage 1950\'s BATTERY OPERATED FIDO THE XYLOPHONE PLAYER DOG as shown. Overall condition is excellent. Mechanism is strong. Tin litho, plastic and fur are very nice and clean. No rust or corrosion anywhere. Battery compartment & base are nice. The 6 correct actions of this toy when operating follow: Eyes light up, Head moves from side to side, Body moves from side to side, Left arm moves up and down, Right arm moves up and down, Xylophone sound is made. The xylophone is in excellent undamaged condition with no missing parts. This toy has been tested and works very well. This is a rare, \"MADE IN JAPAN\" toy listed in Don Hultzman\'s book, COLLECTOR\'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 72. It is a 1950\'s era toy made by the Alps Co. It has a rarity of 8 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $350.00 in C-10 condition.
