This is a very rareTrader Vic\'s Tiki Trophy Race medalion or keychain dated 1975.
The ski races date back to 1963, when\"Trader Vic\" Bergeron\" hosted the social highlight of the year in Sugar Bowl Lake Tahoe. This was the end-of-the-ski-season Tiki Race where skiers outfitted in grass skirts, leis and sarongs, slalomed around artificial palm trees to the bottom of the hill, where a dugout canoe was filled with mai tais. A luau was held at the finish line of the Tiki Race andtwo separate bars for Mai Tais and Hot Buttered Rum were set up for spectators. Winners were awarded carved wooden tiki trophies and participants were given these medals.This medal is in good condition and measures about 1-1/4\" inch across.
