Orville Tsinnie\'s jewelry creations evolved from Navajo silversmiths\' traditional designs to his award-winning creations like this one with a Modernist flare. His bracelets, rings, and necklaces often showcase his hand-selected and hand-polished turquoise, dinosaur bone, lapis, sugilite, and other colorful gem-quality stones. His perfectionism shows in every mm of his silversmithing.

MORE ABOUT THE VERY TALENTED ARTIST:Orville Tsinniewas born (1943) and raised on the Navajo reservation in Tuba City, AZ. He was a Navajo tribal employee and did not pick up silversmithing tools until he was 27, a departure from the path of many Navajo silversmiths who begin learning the craft as children. Orvillefashioned his first silver piece, a pin in the shape of a Navajo woman, aftervisiting his sister Roselyn who was married to Hopi silversmith Horace Emerson.

Later hemade his home in Shiprock, New Mexico, with his wife Darlene and their children, and now grandchildren nearby. Mastering his art over forty years, he was considered a master goldsmith – an unusual accomplishment for a self-taughtartist. Mr. Tsinnie won numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement award from the Indian Arts and Crafts Assn., the leading American Indian arts alliance. He had a full calendar of shows and fairs and his Shiprock studio and workbench were full of works in progress earlier this year when, at age 73, after a short illness, on May 23, 2017, he \"walked on\" as the Navajos refer to dying. It is not an exaggeration to say that along with his many family members and friends who mourned his loss, thousands of people in numerous countries who collected his work, met him at exhibits, or followed his career also felt a very personal sense of loss.

Although we do not accept returns unless an item is not as pictured and described, this bracelet is covered by \'s excellent Buyer Protection Program(which no buyer has ever needed to use for our sales since we joined in 2004). Thanks for looking.
