This is the RARE 1st Version of Ariel. Ariel makes waves wherever she goes, but most especially under the sea. To truly capture the underwater shimmer, Disney made a production change from standard paint finish to opalescent paint on her entire tail and fin. Prior to the change, only Ariel\'s fins were opalescent. This production change was made right after the first batch, so very few of the first version were released.
